Grandma Hilva

Hilva Johnson Christensen was born in Logan, Utah on April 19, 1909.  She passed away in December of 1993.  She was a mother to 6 children, a grandmother to 18, a great grandmother to 29 and a great, great grandmother to 5.  We all miss her very much.

She was a wonderful, skilled, practiced, and talented cook and baker. She loved to prepare delicious food and she loved feeding people. It was impossible to visit her home without being offered something to eat. Her recipe collection is extensive. She wrote her recipes in beautiful script using impeccable spelling.

This blog is meant to provide you many things:
~a place to share her recipe collection with her progeny
~a place to share memories and photos

COLLECTION:
The recipes are either shown in her handwriting or typed EXACTLY as she wrote them.  Only recipes that she wrote by hand or wrote-on are included in this collection.  Often times the recipes weren't written in their entirety, and instead of assuming what was missing, they are printed here without that information.  If anything was added it will be shown in [ ].

She also collected recipes from others; sisters, nieces, nephews, friends, cousins, daughters, granddaughters.  She gave credit to them on the recipe and credit is given them on this blog.

MEMORIES:
We will be collecting memories from progeny and by clicking on this tab, you'll be able to walk down memory lane with each of us.  If you'd like to have your memories included, please email:  jessicaxjessica@gmail.com.

with love,
Amy & Rachael
