date loaf

2 c. brown sugar
1 c. butter or shortening
4 eggs
1 c. warm milk
2 tsp soda
2 tsp vanilla
2 lbs dates
2 c. nuts
4 c. flour

Cream shortening & sugar.  Add well beaten eggs.  Mix as a cake.  Bake 1 hour in moderate oven.  Bake in 3 loaf tins.
